We believe better transportation policy is at the center of a safer, greener, more equitable Long Beach.
Vision Zero
The path to zero traffic deaths is clear, we just have to choose it. Injuries and deaths on public roads must be treated like the health emergency they are. Limit speeds with infrastructure, not signs. Identify dangerous intersections and redesign them. Protect bike lanes with concrete, not paint. Make pedestrian crossings shorter and easier with bulb-outs and light priority.
Reduce Vehicle Miles Travelled (VMT)
Some trips require cars, but many don’t. Cars are dangerous, polluting, expensive, and a real pain to park. Lets make it easier to leave the car at home with faster and more frequent busses, more comfortable bike routes, and safer places to walk.
